Q1 2022 Recap – Future

This year kicked off with high velocity first in terms of work, I’ve entered into a new role that expanded my footprint in consulting and really fit my background more on that later. For this post I’m going to focus on the goals that are laid out for the year, obviously its apparent that adoption of containers and Kubernetes are here to stay. With that being said I’m going to go all in this year and carry on the path of microservices but not just in certification terms but exploration. I’ve been aware of Kubernetes since 2019 when I started on Azure, but wasn’t sure how big of the use was until I’ve seen soaring adoption in 2021 and beyond.

Obviously CISSP is in my radar and scheduled for late April, but for the time being I’ve crossed the threshold of 20 certifications across the Azure suite (MSFT Advocate) to the end. It would be hard to ignore the elephant in the room on expansion of services across multiple vendors. I’m looking into GCP and exploring deployments with various services such as Cloud Run, GKE, and Compute Engine.

April’s focus will consist of CISSP and I’ll be posting actively to review and explore some topics that are consisting of CISSP curriculum and I’ve been exploring the idea of making tutorials and courses on various cloud service providers to assist those who want to learn and expand. I’d be lying if I didn’t tell you the amount of information that builds on the fundamentals these days and with that being said don’t be afraid to just jump in. Start today by labs and using SDK’s hell even go on Github and search up some projects for reference I’ve found a plethora.

2022 Goals

CISSP

ACE/PCA/PCS – Determine PCNE/PCDE

CCSP – Considering CCSK and CCAK as well for maximum coverage

CKA/CKS

I’ve keep it light for the time being because I consider the heavy ones such as ISC2 in terms of pricing and time to prepare for it in this planning.

Adversity doesn’t build character; it reveals it.

Additionally I’m actively using terraform so I’ll likely knock out the Hashicorp Associate for Terraform.
